What each bench day actually covers

A modular outline used across our workshops. Fundamentals seats work through modules 1–6; clinics and labs pull the modules that match the booking.

Operator goals and constraints

Clarify room size, noise tolerance, budget bands, and which algorithms matter to you before any parts are praised. We document constraints you will reuse when shopping later.

Component matching on paper

Map GPU watt envelopes to PSU rails, riser grades, motherboard lane limits, and frame clearances. Spot incompatible combinations before money leaves the account.

Frame layout and cabling

Shelf spacing, cable dress that does not block intake, and strain relief practices that survive transport from lab to apartment.

First power-on and miner baseline

Safe start sequence, single-card bring-up, hashrate capture, and what “normal” variance looks like in the first hour.

Cooling basics under load

Measure intake versus exhaust, place shared fans, inspect thermal pads, and decide when paste work is worth the downtime.

Home start-up checklist

Write your own power-on script, weekly inspection points, and a short list of symptoms that mean stop-and-check rather than keep-mining.

Pick a seat that matches the gap

If you need the full path, book GPU Mining Fundamentals. If your frame already runs but power or heat is the weak point, the Component Matching Clinic or Cooling Basics Lab may be enough.

Private mentoring pulls whichever modules your logs suggest — often a mix of 04 and 05 after a messy first week at home.
